Extras needed for independent horror/comedy (21+)
This Sunday (20 July), the independent horror/comedy "The Landlord" will be shooting a bar scene and extras are needed! Shooting will take place from 8:30 a.m. until around 3:00 or 4:00 p.m. at the Gold Star Bar at 1755 W Division St. near the corner of Division and Wood. Everyone must be 21+ and bring a photo ID.

The setting is an ordinary neighborhood bar. Extras are asked to wear casual dress with no large brand names, trademarks, corporate logos or "Chicago" graphics (i.e. no Mickey Mouse, Nike logos or Chicago Cubs shirts).

Please email misfitsdan@yahoo.com with your availability on Sunday and any questions you might have. We will be filming shots for one scene requiring a few extras to stay from 8:30 through 12:00 and shots for another scene requiring a *lot* of extras to stay from 10:00 to 3 or 4:00. If you'd like to be in both scenes, that's fine - just bring two changes of clothing.

Please feel free to pass this along to anyone who might be interested, but remember: you MUST confirm with the production in order to participate!

Chicago horror film shoot call for extras!
Just got this through the Chicago Creepster Yahoo group:

Hey Chicago horror troops,

Local director Robert Cappelletto is currently shooting the upcoming film, PICKMAN'S MUSE, based on the H.P. Lovecraft story, HAUNTER OF THE DARK. There is a scene that takes place in a movie theatre, and they need bodies in the seats!!

The shoot will take place at the Portage Theatre in Chicago, 4050 N. Milwaukee Ave (near the corners of Cicero and Irving Park) on SUNDAY, JULY 13 at 11AM. Dress casually and comfortably (with no large logos or brands). We anticipate the shoot will last approx 2-3 hours, and it
should be a whale of a good time for all involved.

Please pass this message along to your friends and drag a few along to join the party. The more the merrier, and you'll be helping to support independent Chicago horror filmmaking!!

Film Shorts
Hey kids,

I work for a lovely organization called the Chicago Short Film Brigade http://www.filmbrigade.com.

If you like shorts and don't want to watch them alone via YouTube, here's the summer schedule. Screenings vary in price from free to $8. June is the opening of our first South Side screening at Experimental Station which is host to an awesome non-profit collective. http://www.experimentalstation.org. And of course, our North Side screenings are still at the Hideout complete with beer and popcorn. Past shorts can be viewed on our site, and we always have a rolling submission policy with no entry fees, so give it a try. Our end of year "Best Of" show screens at the Siskel and last year a first time filmmaker won... for a nature documentary: http://audience.withoutabox.com/festivals/event_item.php?id=117

Harmony Korine at the Music Boxen
Awesome! Harmony Korine will be at the Music Box Theater to present his new film, Mr. Lonely!

While I think Harmony's one of the most overrated filmmakers of this or any generation, I'm going to the 9:45 showing FOR SURE.

Also, please spread the word of this community around so that others will join it and discuss.
